The Helen Cole Republican Women’s Club is looking for Scholarship Candidates! Scholarship Application Guidelines Eligibility: High School Senior girls with a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 Scale. Live and attend High School or Home School that is in Cleveland County. Each applicant must submit the following items to be fully considered for this scholarship: 1. Complete Scholarship Application (1 page attached) 2. Certified transcript listing GPA 3. Attach two (2) letters of recommendations 4. Resume 5. Five hundred (500) word essay on the following question: Why is the Electoral College process relevant today? Applicants will be judged on • Leadership Activities • Community Service • Scholastic Achievement • Essay The Helen Cole Republican Women’s Club Committee will make the final selection. Please join us for our Nov. meeting as we welcome Major General Myles Deering (Retired) as our very special guest speaker. Gen. Deering serves as the Oklahoma Secretary of Veterans Affairs and as the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs. He served as the Adjutant General for the Oklahoma National Guard and as the Secretary of the Military on the cabinets of both Gov. Brad Henry and Gov. Mary Fallin. His military service spanned a period from Oct. 1971 to Jan. 2015, culminating in over 43 years of military service both domestically and abroad. He holds a BA in Management from OU, an MS from OSU and a Master of Strategic Studies from the US Army War College. Gen. Deering will speak on the needs and issues facing our Oklahoma Veterans today. Our meeting which will be held at the Two Olives Café, 201 North Broadway in Moore, OK. 73160; will also include election of 2017 HCRWC Officers and discussion of the recent election results. A meal will be served at 6pm with the meeting to begin promptly at 6:30pm. Thank you!
OUR GOP COUNTY FAIR BOOTH is looking for a few good volunteers to work during the Cleveland County Free Fair. During the fair we will have a meet and greet with elected officials and candidates running for office.You could work 2 or 3 hours and the time does go fairly quickly. We will offer games/prizes for kids and adults, giving out info for all the clubs, registering voters, posting official/candidates names for up coming times that they will be there so people can visit with them. Our goal is getting our candidates elected. The times needed are Sept.8 from 4pm-10pm; Sept. 9 from 9am-10pm; Sept. 10 from 9am to 10pm; Sept. 11 from 12pm-6pm. As a reminder the Helen Cole Club will have a regular meeting tonight June 21, 2016 at 6pm at the Two Olives Cafe in Moore, located at 201 N Broadway St #101, Moore, OK 73160. Our featured speaker is Rod Cleveland, District 1 Cleveland County Commissioner. The duties of a county commissioner are varied and many.Rod will speak on Economic Development and Workforce Training in Cleveland County. If you would like to eat food will be served at 6pm followed by the meeting promptly at 6:30pm. Candidates running for office will also be there if you would like to ask questions or hear their position on the issues.
